I’ve collected some webservers which you can make your own webserver. Those are all for Linux.
Why I choosed for Linux?
- Linux is THE system for servers. It’s faster then Windows servers and most Windows servers are NOT secured.
The packages inside the rar are .tar.gz

Install Sambar:
Unpack the data to /usr/share
so, you get now: /usr/share/sambar70linux
In the config directory there is a sambar-inetd file,
which you can start Sambar Server from every boot with it.
Or you can manually start it to cd to the dir:
cd /usr/share/sambar70linux
from a shell, and then type:
./server
Don’t close the shell, or the server will close. Now you have successfully installed Sambar. Enjoy

- Xampp Linux 1.6.2
Many people know from their own experience that it’s not easy to install an Apache web server and it gets harder if you want to add MySQL, PHP and Perl.

XAMPP is an easy to install Apache distribution containing MySQL, PHP and Perl. XAMPP is really very easy to install and to use - just download, extract and start.

At the moment there are four XAMPP distributions:
The distribution for Linux systems (tested for SuSE, RedHat, Mandrake and Debian) contains: Apache, MySQL, PHP & PEAR, Perl, ProFTPD, phpMyAdmin, OpenSSL, GD, Freetype2, libjpeg, libpng, gdbm, zlib, expat, Sablotron, libxml, Ming, Webalizer, pdf class, ncurses, mod_perl, FreeTDS, gettext, mcrypt, mhash, eAccelerator, SQLite and IMAP C-Client.

Install Xampp:
Extract the map lampp to opt, so you got /opt/lampp now.
Open a shell and type:
/opt/lampp/lampp start
Now you’ve successfully installed Xampp.
For security settings start:
/opt/lampp/lampp security
from a shell.
