The Long Blondes didn’t have to look too far to come up with a title for their sophomore album.
The act’s Couples is already scheduled for an April 8 release from Rough Trade, and takes its title from a wall in the studio upon which the band tacked pictures of inspirational couples. Of course, most of the topical matter revolves around love and, possibly more significantly, the act’s made up of a pair of ex-couples in addition to singer Kate Jackson.

"Situations continually arose when we would look towards famous couples for inspiration, entertainment or enlightenment," bassist Reenie Hollis said in a statement. "It was either fate or the onset of cabin fever but Couples seemed like the ideal title."
